Reading Partners: Your help is requested to work one-on-one with a child to help improve reading skills, come to a meeting at Sibley Elementary School’s Media Center on Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 7 p.m. Four times the usual number of requests for a reading partner have come in. This is orientation for reading partner adult volunteers where you can ask questions and decide if this opportunity is for you. Call Stumme at 377-7433 for more information.
Crime Victims Crisis Center: Assist staff to collect Hands Are Not for Hitting pledges and outline hands for a display of information about the CVCC and domestic violence awareness. Various shifts between 9:45 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. are still available Tuesday, Oct. 12, at the Public Library and Thursday, Oct. 14, at the County Government Center; just call Stumme at 377-7433 to lend a hand.
The Rock: There are lots of ways to help kids. Do some of the behind-the-scenes work at The Rock. Answer phones between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. one day a week, help with mailings twice a month or just bring in home-baked cookies or bars once in a while. Call Robin at 373-1015 to help.
