A house fire reported in Albert Lea Thursday afternoon turned out to be a false alarm.

At about 2:25 p.m., a house fire was reported at 306 Sheridan St., Albert Lea.

Fire crews responded to the call.

Once they arrived, however, they found out it was a false alarm.

Something cooking on the stove triggered the smoke alarm to sound at the residence. A neighbor heard the alarms and called authorities.
