Kindergartners got to read during a pajama party at Hawthorne Elementary School on Oct. 19. -- Submitted photo

On Tuesday, Oct. 19, more than 90 kindergarten parents, students and their siblings attended Kindergarten Pajama Party Family Night at Hawthorne Elementary School. Parents were given information about math and reading gold standards that their child is working on and were shown how to find their teacher’s webpages. Using these webpages enables the child and the parents to play educational games from home, stay updated on what is going on at school and see pictures of their child. The kindergarten students, together with their parents, created math and reading games to take home. Families also had an opportunity to sit down in a kindergarten classroom and read together as a family. Hawthorne staff would like to extend a very special thank you to all of the families who were able to attend. The next pajama party family night will be sometime in December.
