You Can Help

The following are some of the volunteer opportunities currently open in Freeborn County. If you can help with any of them or would like to volunteer for others, call Pat Stumme, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program director, at Senior Resources, 377-7433.
St. John’s Lutheran Home: It’s the holiday season at St. John’s! Volunteers are needed to help with escorting residents back and forth to musical events in December. Plan to help with one event or with several if you really like parties; it means a lot to the residents. Dates and times vary, so you can fit it into your schedule many ways. Call Carla at 473-1028.
Arc: Help cook and serve the annual soup and chili supper on Monday, Nov. 29. Volunteers are needed throughout the day beginning with a shift in the morning to chop vegetables, stir the pots, afternoon for setting tables and cooking; then from 4 to 7:30 p.m. to serve and clean up. Please call for Jo at ARC 377-3469 to volunteer.
You Can Help Build Your Bones: Stronger bones, better balance and more ease for turning your head while driving are significant for any age driver in the coming winter. Participate in a Bone Builders Group twice a week and help yourself to these life benefits. You’ll also discover good humor and new friends. Call RSVP at 377-7433 and ask for the schedule.
RSVP, a program of Senior Resources of Freeborn County, receives some funding through the United Way of Freeborn County, the Minnesota Board on Aging and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
