Fire destroys shed

A shed was destroyed by fire Thursday at 2211 Bridge Ave. Lt. Jeff Strom of the Albert Lea Police Department was driving by the property at 2:51 p.m. when he saw smoke coming from the shed and called the Albert Lea Fire Department. It was reported that someone had been working on a snowblower inside the shed when gas dripped near a kerosene heater, causing the blaze. The shed and its contents were a total loss.

Two cars hit deer

Freeborn County Sheriff’s officers reported to two car/deer collisions Thursday.

The first was reported at 6:16 p.m. Thursday. A car driven by Tamora Lee Larson, 26, went into the ditch after hitting a deer at 680th Avenue and 220th Street in Alden.

At 10:04 p.m., sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene at the intersection of County Road 46 and County Road 71 where Jacquelyn Jo Draayer, 53, reportedly hit a deer. No injuries were reported at either scene.

Counterfeit $100 recovered

Albert Lea police responded to a call at Walmart at 3:48 p.m. Thursday. A counterfeit $100 bill was recovered from a customer.

Underage drinking

Four minors were cited for underage drinking during a routine traffic stop Friday at 12:20 a.m. on South Highway 69 and West Main Street. Albert Lea police cited Adam John Flategraff for minor consumption and underage drinking while driving. Cassie Lynn Davis was arrested for minor consumption. Jade Kandace Johnson was cited for underage consumption. Miranda Minnie Crawford was cited for minor consumption.

Criminal damage reported

Albert Lea police responded to a criminal property damage report at 11:39 a.m. Thursday. A car was reportedly damaged at 721 W. Clark St.

Car crash

A motorhome crashed into a parked car at the intersection of Penn Avenue and West Ninth Street at 10:03 Thursday. Albert Lea police reported no injuries.
