Here are highlights in history for Dec. 7, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1989 — Bill Morris, Albert Lea High School speech and English teacher, would be directing Albert Lea Community Theater’s upcoming play, “The Physician in Spite of Himself.”

1974 — Hattie Ringham closed the family grocery store on South Pearl Street after 50 years of serving the neighborhood’s food needs.

1954 — Liquor sales in Glenville was approved by voters with a three to one margin. Liquor sales in Hartland and Geneva were approved by voters with a two to one margin.
