Packers ride 26-2 run past Tigers

The Austin Packers boys’ basketball team finished the first half on a 26-2 run Tuesday against the Albert Lea Tigers and won 66-41 at Albert Lea High School.

The Tigers (3-8, 1-6 Big Nine) led the Packers (6-6, 5-2) 8-2 early in the first half but trailed 28-10 at halftime.

Tigers head coach Lucas Kreuscher was pleased with his team’s defense in the first half.

“Turnovers were leading to points for them,” he said.

The Tigers had 14 turnovers in the first half.

Kyle Ooms led the Tigers with 10 points who play next at 7:30 p.m. Thursday against Rochester Century.
