“Love Letters,” written by A. R. Gurney, centers on two characters, Melissa Gardner and Andrew Makepeace Ladd III. During a relationship that spans 50 years, each character’s ambitions, dreams, disappointments, victories and defeats are revealed through letters they exchanged since they met in the second grade.

The show begins with Melissa and Andrew, performed by husband and wife duo Glen and Pat Parsons, reading letters that they began exchanging in the second grade. As the characters mature into their teenage years, the content of the letters matures, as well.

“It’s funny. It’s entertaining. It’s really delightful,” said Parsons. “It goes through the ups and downs and turmoils through their lives.”

“It has a charm of its own, and we hope you enjoy it,” said Parsons.

The show is slated for 7:30 p.m. today, Friday and Saturday at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center. Admission is $14 for adults and $10 for students. Season ticket holders who cannot make it to the performance should contact the box office with reimbursement inquiries.
