Panthers earn share of Gopher Conference

NEW RICHLAND — Carlie Wagner scored 24 points Thursday as the New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva girls’ basketball team clinched a share of the Gopher Conference title with a 72-28 win over Randolph in New Richland.

The Panthers led 47-14 at halftime and cruised to their 21st win of the season. The Panthers will win the Gopher outright in United South Central loses either of their final two conference games. If they win out the title will be shared.

Anna Schlaak added 19 points and nine rebounds for the Panthers and Kristina Cole chipped in 12 points.

Jade Schultz had six points on two 3-pointers and a team-high 10 rebounds.

The Panthers play again at 7:30 p.m. Monday against Winona Cotter in New Richland.
