Rebels rout Rockets

Kayla Stenzel scored 16 points Friday, while Val Sahr scored 12 points as the United South Central Rebels girls basketball team defeated the Randolph Rockets 54-16 in Randolph.
The Rebels (16-6 overall, 12-1 Gopher conference) didn’t allow a single field goal in the first half as Randolph scored all six of their first half points on free throws.
USC went into half with a 35-6 lead.
The Rebels also had a season low 10 turnovers, while they forced Randolph into 30 turnovers.
“We challenged the girls to pick up their intensity on defense,” USC coach Stu Hendrickson said. “We have to be real consistent at this point of the season and we played a solid 36 minutes.”
The Rebels are back in action at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday as they play Mankato Loyola in Mankato.
