MANKATO– The No.4-ranked Albert Lea Tigers wrestling team recorded seven falls on Thursday as the Tigers defeated the Mankato East Cougars 67-6 in Mankato.

“The kids were very aggressive,” Albert Lea coach Larry Goodnature said. “They went for the fall. They went out there and got the job done.”

Goodnature says as a whole the team wrestled very well and was pleased with some of the younger wrestlers that got to wrestle in the varsity match.

“The whole team wrestled very well tonight,” Goodnature said. “Some of these kids who haven’t had a lot of varsity experience went in there and did very well.”

The Tigers travel to Augsburg College on Friday to take on Coon Rapids.
