Comedy show coming to Albert Lea Saturday

Hold onto your hats, because it could be a wild ride in Albert Lea this weekend.

Wild Bill Bauer is headlining a comedy live show at the event center of America’s Best Value Inn Saturday night.

Bauer is a regular on national radio morning show, The Bob & Tom Show. The emcee is Del Point, and local comedian Jeff Polis will open the show.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Proceeds will benefit the Albert Lea High School tennis team. Tickets are available through the tennis players and their parents.

People attending are also invited to dinner at the Big Island Grille & Bar before the show.

Following are several other events going on around town this weekend:

Friday

• Enjoy student art at the Elementary/Secondary Art Show, on exhibit at the Albert Lea Art Center through April 2. The exhibit is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

• Think spring at the spring craft show at Northbridge Mall from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

• St. Theodore is hosting a fish fry from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at St. Theodore’s Marian Hall. Admission is $8 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Kids under the age of 3 eat free. The menu includes fish, baked or mashed potatoes, coleslaw, rolls and ice cream.

• The Albert Lea High School girls’ tennis team is hosting a fish fry fundraiser from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Albert Lea American Legion Club. Admission is $8 and includes fish, baked potato and vegetable. Proceeds will benefit the team.

Saturday

• Think spring at the spring craft show at Northbridge Mall from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• Wedgewood Cove Golf Club is hosting a beanbag tournament for singles, starting at noon, and doubles, starting at 2:30 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded with a 100 percent payout. Entry is $10 per person.

• The Albert Lea Figure Skating Club will present its 50th annual show, “Celebration! 50 years on Ice” at 7 p.m. at the Albert Lea City Arena. Tickets are available through club members, at Doyle’s Hallmark in Northbridge Mall and at the door.

• Dancing with the Freeborn County Stars will be from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Albert Lea High School. Tickets are $10 at the door, or $15 and $20 reserved. Proceeds support the local chapter of the American Red Cross.

Sunday

• The Albert Lea Figure Skating Club will present its 50th annual show, “Celebration! 50 years on Ice” at 2 p.m. at the Albert Lea City Arena. Tickets are available through club members, at Doyle’s Hallmark in Northbridge Mall and at the door.

• Think spring at the spring craft show at Northbridge mall from noon to 5 p.m.

• The Moose Lodge of Albert Lea is hosting an omelet breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Made-to-order omelets, sausage, bacon, potatoes, toast, juice and coffee are on the menu. Admission is $8 per person.

• Enjoy a symphonic pops concert at 7 p.m. at the Albert Lea High School.
