With all that is going on in the world, little can be said except to say that our hearts and minds today are with tsunami victims and families of the Pacific Rim.

Japan has not only seen deaths but devastation much farther inland than thought possible. Hawaii, as of press time for this page, was bracing for a large tsunami wave. Other places in the Pacific Rim, including the U.S. West Coast states, were taking precautionary measures.

One look this morning at the futures markets showed that this tsunami could have international implications, including gas prices. A tsunami thousands of miles away has local effects, whether it is our pocketbooks or locals with loved ones along the Pacific Ocean.
