The New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva Panthers softball team lost their first game of the season Tuesday 5-4 at Waseca.

Jade Schultz picked up the loss for the Panthers after striking out nine and walking five.

Schultz and Harlee Vokoun each went 2-for-4 at the plate.

The Panthers play again at 5 p.m. Thursday against Maple River.
