A duo of Mankato West softball pitchers held Albert Lea hitless Tuesday, as the Tigers lost to the Scarlets 19-0 on the road.

The Scarlets’ (1-1, 1-1 Big Nine) Tiffany Elkins earned the win as she struck out 13 Tigers (0-2, 0-2) batters over four of the game’s five innings.

“We were doing a lot of swinging and missing,” Tigers coach Dan Harms said. “We did not move the ball at all.”

The Tigers begin a doubleheader Thursday at 4 p.m. against Faribault (1-1, 1-1) at North Alexander Park in Faribault.
