Teenager arrested after chase

A teenage boy was arrested Monday afternoon after a routine traffic stop turned into a high-speed chase starting in Wells and ending on state Highway 109.
According to a news release from the Wells Police Department, the teenager, whose name has not been released, was arrested at about 4:30 p.m. on one count of felony fleeing.
The release states a Wells police officer was conducting a routine stop in the area of First Street NW and Franklin Street in Wells. The driver went east on Highway 109, and was ultimately arrested west of Alden with assistance from the Alden Police Department.
The driver is being held at the Faribault County jail pending charges.
