Lingering snow and cold weather has kept the Albert Lea baseball team off the field for most of their preseason.

It hung around long enough to keep them from taking the field for their first game, too.

The Tigers’ first game of the season, scheduled to have taken place at 5 p.m. Thursday in Waseca has been postponed. The game was rescheduled for May 7.

The Tigers are now scheduled to open their season at Hayek Field at 5 p.m. Tuesday against Winona.

The Tigers split the season series with Winona last year with each team winning at home. The Tigers ended up finishing second on the Big Nine Conference while Winona finished eighth.
