Trevor Herfindahl picks up lone win
Trevor Herfindahl won but his team lost two three-set matches, and the Albert Lea boys’ tennis team lost their season opener 6-1 Thursday at Albert Lea High School.
First-year head coach Wayne Prudoehl said that if a few points would have gone differently he felt the Tigers could have won the match.
“You’re never happy with a loss but I’m content with the way they played,” Prudoehl said. “I think we’ll be OK going forward.”
Herfindahl defeated Chase Mansy 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. The Tigers’ Tate Tufte and Kyle Zogg lost 6-0, 3-6, 3-6 at No. 2 doubles, and Aaron Woitas and Evan Templeman lost 4-6, 6-2, 3-6 at No. 3 doubles.
The Tigers play again at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Waseca.
