GLENVILLE — The Glenville-Emmons Wolverines baseball team quickly put two consecutive losses behind them Thursday with a 19-0 thrashing of the Alden-Conger Knights.

Wolverines pitcher Tyler Woodside threw a five-inning no hitter, striking out 11 batters and walking none.

“He was overpowering tonight,” Wolverines coach Louie Toulouse said. “He threw the ball right at them. It didn’t help (the Knights) that it was as cold as it was. If they did swing they were way late.”

Spencer Kral was 3-for-4 for the Wolverines with three RBI and two doubles. Cameron Iverson went 2-for-2 with 5 RBI, and Levi Garner went 2-for-2 with four runs scored.

The Knights’ two baserunners were Eli Rinehart, who walked in the fourth inning, and Jordan Johnson, who reached on an error to lead of the second inning. Johnson advanced as far as third base with one out but didn’t score.

The Knights play again Monday against Lyle/Pacelli in Alden, and the Wolverines play Tuesday against Mabel-Canton in Glenville.
