Classic car show at Thorne Crest on Thursday

The 7th annual Classic Car Show is Thursday at Thorne Crest Retirement Community in Albert Lea. This event fast become the unofficial classic kick off to summer. There is no entrance fee to display a classic car, and no entry fee for those who wish to come and enjoy the classic cars. There is food available, including new this year, rootbeer floats. And back by popular demand, Bruno’s corn dogs and music by Sound Wave with Tom Minehart, DJ. Last year hundreds of people came to this event. The fun starts at 5 p.m., and prizes will be given away at 7 p.m. Shanna Eckberg, administrator at Thorne Crest said, “This is a fun event for our residents, our employees and everyone in the Albert Lea community. We enjoy putting on our poodle skirts and 50s attire. For a few hours we are all back in the 50s and 60s. This year we have some new surprises planned, and hope to have even more people from Albert Lea and surrounding communities come and join in on the fun.” This community wide event will be held at Thorne Crest Retirement Community, 1201 Garfield Ave., Albert Lea.
