Mike Funk, the Albert Lea School District’s superintendent, was one of seven semifinalists in the Rochester Public Schools superintendent search. Thursday night Rochester’s school board chose three finalists to go through more interviews. Funk was not selected.

In a memo to Albert Lea staff this week Funk said he was recruited for the position in Rochester and that he wasn’t actively looking to leave Albert Lea.
