Many schools don’t include cyberbulling in policies

Schoolyard bullying has probably been around as long as there have been schools. But over the last decade or so, the schoolyard and other places kids hang out have changed considerably.
Today, a good deal of social interaction — including bullying — occurs over the Internet. That so-called “cyber-bullying” has schools across the nation struggling to figure out the best way to address it.
Minnesota state law requires school districts to have anti-bullying policies that address electronic forms of intimidation. But a Minnesota Public Radio News investigation found that nearly a third of districts don’t define cyber-bullying in their bullying policies.
