The funeral service for Maxine Ardis Wangen of Albert Lea will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea. The Rev. Dennis Frank will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour before the service. Memorials are preferred to Hillcrest Cemetery.

Maxine died Friday, May 13, 2011, at her home. She was 87 years old.

Maxine was born March 13, 1924, in Armstrong, Iowa, to Herbert John and Hazel Edith (Worcester) Seifert. She grew up at Ledyard, Iowa, and attended Ledyard Consolidated High School. Maxine was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Faith. She married Harold Chester Wangen on Dec. 14, 1957, at Sioux Falls, S.D. Maxine worked for Woolens Trouser Factory, Munsingwear, King Sealy, Streaters and Modern Art Studio. She enjoyed sewing, reading, watching television, fishing and spending time at the cabin at Walker. Maxine was a devoted wife and took care of her husband Harold until his death from Parkinsons.

Maxine is survived by her nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Laura Seifert.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents: Herbert and Hazel Seifert; husband, Harold Wangen; three brothers: Hubert, Dale and Wayne Seifert; sister, Beatrice Hagen; sisters-in-law: Theresa and Doris Seifert.
