In celebration of this fabulous recital instrument’s 40th birthday, and recently completed renovation, an afternoon recital by Grace’s organist, Robert Tewes, will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday. Featured on the program will be pieces running the gamut of organ history, showcasing the versatility of this colorful instrument. Specifically, works by Baroque composers Dietrich Buxtehude and Johann Sebastian Bach; romantic composer Felix Mendelssohn; as well as contemporary composers, Jehan Alain and Vincent Persichetti will be heard. An offering which will be designated to the ongoing care and maintenance of the instrument will be received.

The public is warmly invited to attend this special celebration. At the program’s conclusion, a time for fellowship and treats will be shared in the fellowship hall. Grace Lutheran Church is located at 918 Garfield Avenue in Albert Lea.
