The 2011 Walking Moai Program is giving community members the opportunity to try out new activities for free this summer with its “Sample Saturday Series.”

On Saturdays throughout the summer, community members can try out Zumba, belly dancing, disc golf, Qigong, butterfly (kids) yoga and more at no charge. A full list of options, dates and times can be found on www.healthyfreeborncounty.org and in this summer’s Community Education booklet out in early May.

“Our goal with the ‘Sample Saturday Series’ is to introduce community members to a variety of new activities that will help get and keep them active,” said Erin Sauer, Walking Moai program co-chairwoman. Sauer co-chairs the program with Loyal Leas.

Community members do not need to be a member of a walking moai to participate; however, all moais are encouraged to attend the events.

“We are very grateful to all of our instructors and volunteers,” said Sauer. “The 2011 program and ‘Sample Saturday Series’ couldn’t happen without their support.”
