Today, the Albert Lea Family YMCA will bid farewell to Youth Program Director Kelly Becker. She will be leaving her post and moving towards the twin cities with her fiance´ who will be working in Plymouth.

Behind her leadership and management abilities the summer day camp program has seen an increase in participation from children. In 2010, a typical day at the camp had an estimated 18 children with the largest total being 23. This year there have already been day totaling 27 and 31 children.

Prior to accepting the position at the YMCA, Becker worked as a TV reporter for KIMT in Mason City, Iowa. She was the correspondent for Austin, Albert Lea and Rochester.
