Anna Lien, 94, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Anna Marie Lien, of Albert Lea, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Todd Walsh will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Ann died on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea. She was 94 years of age.
Ann Marie was born on July 16, 1916, in Buffalo Center, Iowa, the daughter of Ben and Ella (Alberts) Westendorf. She attended public school in Iowa. In 1941 she was united in marriage to Glen Lien in Albert Lea. They lived in the Kiester area for many years. In 1957 they moved to Albert Lea where she was employed at Armor Foods for over 19 years. Ann also worked for the Holiday Inn until retiring in 1985 and moving to Shady Oaks Apartments.
Ann was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards and going on trips.
She is survived by her three sons: Jack and Marge of Albert Lea, Dennis and Cheryl of Albert Lea and Duane and Joyce of Ames, Iowa. There are six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. One brother and two sisters survive: Ray Westendorf, Jeanette Herfendahl and Helen Pederson. There are also many nieces and nephews.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen; son Gary; sisters: Minnie Williams, Frances Brackey and Alice Nack; brother, Bennie Westendorf; sister-in-law, Doris; and granddaughter, Patty.
Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
