The Oberlin Conservatory of Music

Scott Ness

Scott Ness of Albert Lea, recently graduated from The Oberlin Conservatory of Music with the degree of bachelor of music. Ness was a cello performance major studying with Darret Adkins. He was recently inducted into PiKappa Lambda, The Theta Chapter at Oberlin. Oberlin Conservatory, founded in 1865, is the oldest continuously operating Conservatory of Music in the United States and the only major music school in the country linked with a preeminent liberal arts college. Oberlin College and Music Conservatory is located in Oberlin, Ohio, 35 miles southwest of Cleveland.
Ness was accepted into the Master’s Program at Boston Conservatory and the Oberlin Master of Teaching Program at Oberlin Conservatory. He was accepted and will be attending North Bennett Street School, an internationally renowned craft and trade school in Boston, Mass  He will be entering the second year of the Advanced Piano Technology program dealing with the entire piano and devoted to comprehensive piano service, including advanced tuning and regulation practice, temperaments, upright and grand piano regulation, grand piano repair and rebuilding, appraisals and estimates, pin block replacement, soundboard repairs/replacement, refinishing, bridge capping, rescaling, action renovation, retrofitting and replacement, and use of hand tools and woodworking machinery. Scott is the son of Bruce and Eileen Ness of Albert Lea.
