Glenville man still in critical condition after crash (updated)

One of the two men injured in a crash Saturday east of Albert Lea remains in critical condition at St. Marys Hospital, according to a hospital spokeswoman this morning.

Robert Gordon Bock, 63, of Glenville, was flown to the Rochester hospital by Mayo One helicopter Saturday afternoon after his vehicle rolled over three miles east of Albert Lea in Albert Lea Township.

He was reportedly driving east on Freeborn County Road 19 in a 1999 Cadillac when he missed a curve and went into the south ditch.

Bock’s passenger, Casper Leland Kycek, 79, of rural Hayward, was also injured. He was transported by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea, from which he was treated and transferred to St. Marys Hospital. As of this morning, Kycek was in fair condition.

The crash remains under investigation by the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office.

Bock was reportedly wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash; Kycek was not.
