Helen Glaze, 92

Helen Marie Glaze, gentle woman, world traveler, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2011, at age 92. She was the eldest daughter of John and Mabel Casselman of Albert Lea.
As in Robert Frost’s poem, Helen always followed the road less traveled and felt it made all the difference. At a young age, she worked in Denver and Alaska, then in Hamburg, Singapore, Malaya, New Zealand and Hawaii in the years after. Wherever she lived, she reached out and helped local children in need.
Helen’s first husband, USAAF officer David Renshaw, was killed in action six months after they married. Her marriage to second husband, Niels West-Larsen, was brief and uneventful. Helen married the late Harold Thomas Glaze in 1953. Their union of 21 years bore two daughters.
Helen Glaze is survived by sister, Ruth Stinerock and brother-in-law, Bob; daughters: Marie Keough and Ruth Camilli and their husbands: Geff Keough and Tom Camilli; grandchildren: Jens and Nils Stammers and Logan Camilli; great-grandchild, Summer Bierman; all their extended family and her favorite furry child, Ginny.
Helen was an exceptional woman. She will be greatly missed. A private celebration of her life will be held by family and friends. Memorials in lieu of flowers preferred to the Salvation Army.
