Howard LeRoy Martinson, formerly of Albert Lea, born June 2, 1945, to Hubert and Beaulah Martinson in Forest City, Iowa, died June 22, 2011, in Hollywood, Calif.

Howard went to school at Albert Lea High School. He entered the Army and served in Vietnam. He worked at Albert Lea Freezer Warehouse for 24 years. He moved in 1991 to California where he worked for an antique furniture store until 2010.

He is survived by brother, Allan (Jackie) Martinson, of Albert Lea; sister, Beverly White, of Geneva; one son, David; nieces and nephews: Dawn (Gene) Ryan, Jeffrey (Amy) Martinson, Adam (Eileen) Martinson and Jennifer Martinson; uncles, aunts and cousins. Special thanks to the Nick Metropolis family of Los Angeles.

He was preceded in death by his parents; neice, Allison Martinson; and nephew, Matthew White.

His family and friends will miss him.

Burial will be at Veterans Cemetery in Riverside, Calif., with full military honors sometime in July.
