Nordeen Clinton Williamson, 88, formerly of Austin, died Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at the Lakewood Healthcare System in Staples, Minn.

Nordeen was born March 7, 1923, on a farm near Corning, Minn., to William and Ada (Guttormson) Williamson. On Jan. 13, 1945, he was united in marriage to Shirley Jorgenson. Nordeen lived in Austin most of his life. He worked for Hormel for 40 years. On April 1, 2006, he moved to Staples, to be near his daughter and her family. Our family has many good memories of our father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Nordeen made many friends at the Lakewood Pines Assisted Living and Riverside Assisted Living. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting. Nordeen will be sadly and greatly missed by all.

Survivors include his daughter, Barbara (John) Schmitt of Staples; grandson, Jason (Denise) Schmitt of Madison, Wis.; granddaughters, Marnie (Tony) Loftus of Big Lake, Minn., Sheila (Ben) Busker of Staples; great-grandchildren, Jalen and Reid Busker, Isabella and Syndie Loftus, Austin Schmitt; brothers, Loren (Georgette) Williamson of Cottage Grove, Minn., James (Sonja) Williamson of Austin; sister, Inez Spitzack, of Owatonna, Minn.; brothers-in-law, Nels (Bonnie) Jorgenson of Austin, Richard (Mary) Jorgenson of Tucson, Ariz., James (Mary) Jorgenson of Austin, Minn.; sisters-in-law, Marie Graves of Dexter, Minn., Susan Jorgenson of Bloomington, Minn.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, on Feb. 8, 2000; daughter, Joanne; brothers, Roger, John, Gerald, Osmer, William; sisters, Lena, Emma, Cora, Ardell; sister-in-law, Betty Engelman.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2011, at Mayer Funeral Home with Father Gregory Parrott officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at Mayer Funeral Home on Monday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
