Megan Pulley shot an 89 and led three Albert Lea Tigers girls’ golfers into the second round of the Section 1AAA Tournament.

Morgan Field shot and Chelsey Battle both shot 105 for the Tigers, who finished 8th of 12 teams Thursday in the first round at the Cannon Golf Club in Cannon Falls.

“This was not our best round of the year,” Tigers coach Shawn Riebe said. “But the course is difficult and longer than most we played this year. Megan has a chance to advance to the state tournament if she can shoot a score in the low 80s.

The Tigers shot 410 as a team with Emily Bick (111) rounding the off the team’s scorecard. Makenna Friehl (114) and Mady Dahl (120) were non-scorers for the Tigers.

“I really hope the girls are encouraged to play this summer and be ready for the 2012 golf season,” Riebe said.
