The salad luncheon at Trinity Lutheran Church was held at noon on April 6. Deborah Circle were hostesses and Virginia Plantage and AdelineBeidermann were co-chairwomen.

Ema Berthelsen, president, welcomed the guests and introduced Jo Meyers who gave the devotion originating from the 131 chapter of Matthew depicting a lesson of spiritual production in our lives.

Those present sang the table prayer before the luncheon.

After the luncheon, Jan Drews introduced Ann Goodmanson, from Albert Lea, who presented the program “Master Gardener.” She is a certified master gardener through the University of Minnesota Extension Program. She gave an informational and detailed program of general practices. They are: soil preparation, planting, pruning and cutting plants and shrubs, and how to treat insects. Albert Lea is in Zone 4 B, so be sure to check the tag on the plants to help in your selection. There are many resources available at local nurseries and the website from the University of Minnesota Extension Program.

Ann Goodmanson is actively involved in the “Shades of Jade” and they take care of all the flowers at Higbie Gardens. Jan Drews thanked her for the presentation..

Meyers was elected to be a member of the 2012 Nominating Committee.

An offering was taken. The group adjourned with the Lord’s Prayer.
