LAKE MILLS — A 53-year-old Albert Lea man drowned Friday at a private campground just west of Northwood, Iowa.

According to the Worth County Sheriff’s Office, the man, identified as Richard Sharpsteen, died at Happy Time Resort.

Authorities received a 911 call at 7:45 p.m. Friday that someone had drowned.

The incident is still under investigation.

Assisting at the scene were Lake Mills ambulance crews and the Northwood Police Department.

Sharpsteen’s funeral arrangements are being handled at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea.
