Alyce Anderson, 72, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Alyce J. Prew Anderson, of Albert Lea, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Salem Lutheran Church. The Rev. Mark Niethammer will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Alyce died Monday evening, July 18, 2011, at her home in Albert Lea. She was 72 years of age.

Alyce was born Oct. 13, 1938, in New Ulm, the daughter of Oswald and Adelia (Radtke) Prew. She graduated from public school in New Ulm and on Nov. 15, 1958, was united in marriage to Allan W. Anderson. Together they lived and farmed in the Freeborn County area for many years. In 1980 they moved to Albert Lea where she was employed for many years as a dietary aide at the Albert Lea Medical Center. Alyce was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church and in her free time enjoyed crafts, gardening, antiques and bird watching. The love of her life included the time she could spend with her grandchildren and her pets Rusty and Coco.

Alyce is survived by her children: Scott and his wife, Linda, Anderson, of Northwood, Iowa, Lori Matthies and Dave Leverenz of Prior Lake, Todd and his wife, Linda, Anderson of Ettrick, Wis.; grandchildren include: Jamie (Stephanie) Anderson, Tony Anderson, Randi (Kris Ellsworth) Matthies, Cole (Cassie) Matthies, Courtney Matthies, Cahler (Sondra) Matthies, Autumn (Johnny) Secrest and Michelle (James) Bradburn; great-grandchildren include: Gavin Anderson, Morgan Bjorklund, Rylee Bjorklund, Olivia Ellsworth, Alexis Matthies, Ryanne Matthies, Lynden Matthies, Riley Kelly, Kale Flugum and Kadyn Flugum. Amelia Secrest, Julie Secrest, Elijah Bradburn and Ebin Bradburn.

Alyce was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Allan.
