Cedar Valley safe for now

So far, Cedar Valley Services is using reserves to survive the state shutdown, and the effect on day-to-day operations has been minimal, according to Program Director Maureen Lynch.
“We have reserves and that’s what they’re there for,” she said.
But it’s not all positive. Lynch said they may run into problems with a long-term shutdown, and she said a group of United Way directors was told to plan for an eight-week state shutdown.
“We’re in a good position to weather this,” she said. “We’re not in a good position to weather this long term.”
