The following are some of the volunteer opportunities currently open in Freeborn County. If you can help with any of them or would like to volunteer for others, call Pat Stumme at 377-7433.
Habitat for Humanity: Have you noticed that the new Habitat project in Albert Lea is to remodel and update a home? You can help with more of the finishing steps just by calling the office, 507-433-1349 or 1-800-300-1349 or fill out and return a volunteer interest form at www.habitataustinmn.org/volunteer.htm. Also, check out the Habitat ReStore, filled with discounted building supplies, furniture and large appliances for sale to the general public. Location is 800 7th Ave NE, Austin, MN.
Senior Resources: Come in once a quarter at 8:30 a.m., this quarter’s date is July 29, and help fold, tape and label a newsletter. Join the friendly group that helps put out the “Senior Scene.”
Alden Museum: Volunteer opportunities abound for many different talents. Guide tours or dust exhibits. Join the board or just sit at the entrance during open hours from 1 to 4 p.m. on Fridays. Call Ingeborg Reindal at 874-3317 or Phyllis Meyer at 874-3880.
RSVP, a program of Senior Resources of Freeborn County, receives some funding through the United Way of Freeborn County, the Minnesota Board on Aging and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
