The following are some of the volunteer opportunities currently open in Freeborn County. If you can help with any of them or would like to volunteer for others, call Pat Stumme, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program director, at Senior Resources, 377-7433.
Family Y’s county fair food stand: The Y requests your help serving customers at their food stand for the week of Freeborn County Fair Aug. 2 through 7. Please call Dennis Dieser at 373-8228 for the late afternoon helper schedules and to get work pass details.
Senior Resources Sodas and Brats: The fundraiser wagon outside Nelson’s Market Place will be dedicated to Senior Resources the afternoon of Friday, Aug. 12. Can you help for an hour or two to hand out the food and make change? Just call Pat at Senior Resources 377-7433 to get your time reserved.
The Children’s Center in Albert Lea: You can help get the center’s roofing project done in a day, Saturday, Aug. 13, without even being on the roof. They will need snacks, cool drinks and folks on the ground to keep the task rolling. Please contact Kim Nelson at 373-7979, the center or Ann at United Way 373-86670 to help keep a solid roof over our littlest kids.
RSVP, a program of Senior Resources of Freeborn County, receives some funding through the United Way of Freeborn County, Minnesota Board on Aging and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
