All Freeborn County cancer survivors are invited to attend the Relay For Life ice cream social Monday evening at the Fairlane Building at the Freeborn County Fairgrounds.

The social will go from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Rootbeer floats will be served.

“We’ve had a really good turnout in the past and we’re looking forward to having a great turnout again this year,” organizer Jill Johnson said.

Johnson said the social is a time for survivors to celebrate being a survivor, register for the relay and pick up their survivor T-shirts.

Family members are invited to attend as well.

She encouraged survivors who are not yet part of the relay to come out to the event.

The 2011 Freeborn County Relay for Life will be held Aug. 12 starting with opening ceremonies at 6 p.m.
