On Thursday the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center will be hosting an exciting concert for children. Ann Zimmerman, a Kansas native, sings the prairie into universal language. Her music celebrates the joy, sorrow and silliness of life on the windy plains. She backs her rich voice with piano, guitar, and audience participation to tell stories and paint portraits. The concert begins at 1:30 p.m. and is a children and family event.
At 6:30 p.m. Thursday the Nature Center will also hold a dedication ceremony for its new “Welcome Circle”. This “Welcome Circle” not only contains a newly designed map, but also has written interpretation regarding Jay C. Hormel and the oak savanna landscape, and two new benches for visitor seating. At 7 p.m. there will be refreshments served in the Ruby Rupner Auditorium while a special concert is performed by Kansas native Ann Zimmerman. Ann is a singer/songwriter whose music tells stories of the joys, sorrows and silliness of life on the plains and prairies.
These events are free concert but advanced reservations are required. For more information please contact the Nature Center at 507-437-7519 or at jchnatur@smig.net.
