The Lens & Shutter Photography Club held its May 19 meeting and end of year picnic at Pioneer Park. There were 18 members and four guests in attendance.

May’s contest category was open.

Members receiving competition awards were:

Darcy Sime, first place for “Fall Barn.”

Jim Wendel, second place for “Carriage Rider.”

Mitch Pederson, third place for “Little Red Squirrel.”

Honorable mentions were awarded to Darcy Sime, Ron Oyer and Jim Wendel.

Merit awards were awarded to Bev Oyer, John Eisterhold, Bernadine Peterson, Cheryl Herold and Sara Aiekens.

Results were not yet available for N4C Print or Digital competition.

End of Year “Best of the Best” Awards were as follows:

Darcy Sime, Photographer of the Year Ken Wangen Award.

Mitch Pederson, Photograph of the Year June Wells Award, for “Fountain Lake at Night.”

Carol Haroldson, first place for “Ballooning Over the Nile.”

Cheryl Herold, second place for “Refreshing Cherries.”

Jim Wendel, third place for “Just Thinking.”

The club decided to participate in the Art Center’s Art and Garden tour July 15-16, and to look into the possibility of a summer riverboat cruise field trip.

The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. on Sept. 15 at Rofshus Precision Machine. Competition category will be motion and movement.
