Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea is offering scholarships to students currently enrolled in college or technical school and non-traditional students.
Two $750 scholarships will be awarded to students who have successfully completed at least one year at an accredited college or technical school. Students who live within Albert Lea’s service area, have a GPA of 3.0 or better, and a declared major in a health care field are eligible for the scholarships.
Two $750 scholarships are also available for “non-traditional” students, defined as those who are pursuing post-secondary education five or more years after completing high school or receiving a GED. To be eligible, students must live within Albert Lea’s service area and plan an education in the health care field.
Scholarships will be awarded primarily on the basis of commitment and leadership. Academic ability, attitude and values will also be taken into consideration.
Recipient of a Mayo Clinic Health System Scholarship will not be eligible to apply for future scholarships offered at our facility in Albert Lea.
Complete information and applications for the scholarships are available from Kathy Leidal, Community Relations Department, 507-377-6389 or on our website www.almedcenter.org under Online Services. Applications must be returned by Aug. 22. The Scholarship Committee will review applications and decisions will be reached by Sept. 26. Scholarships for high school seniors will be offered again in the spring of 2012.
Applications should be sent in care of Kathy Leidal, Mayo Clinic Health System, 404 W. Fountain St., Albert Lea, MN 56007.
