Donations from the Southeast Minnesota of Realtors and Associates benefited the Albert Lea Fire Department and the Freeborn County Beyond the Yellow Ribbon. A live auction was held to raise the money that was donated. Heather Allen said, “We live in this great community and it is our privilege to do for it whatever we can. These are two great causes that assist our family and friends.”

The Albert Lea Fire Department came out to receive the check and will use the donation toward smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors in homes of those who cannot afford smoke alarms or those who cannot check to make sure they are properly working. The firefighters strive to keep those in our community free from danger and they can do that with reducing the risk of fires in our homes with working alarms.

John Severtson accepted the donation for Freeborn County Beyond the Yellow Ribbon which unites all areas within a community to create a comprehensive network that connects and coordinates agencies, organizations, resources and employers for the purpose of proactively supporting Service members and military families.
