Physicians and providers at Mercy Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic announced Wednesday Dr. Stephen Thorn, formerly of Albert Lea’s hospital, will join the clinic staff July 18.

According to a news release from the Mason City, Iowa-based clinic, Thorn brings more than 30 years of experience delivering special care to women of all ages.

He has been recognized nationally for performance in his field of medicine, including being named among America’s Top Obstetricians and Gynecologists in 2004 and 2005 by the Consumer’s Research Council. He has received the Physician Recognition Award from the American Medical Association in 2005-2008 and a patient’s choice award from the American Registry in 2010.
