In new market, sky is limit for Peterson’s price

EDEN PRAIRIE — Adrian Peterson seems to be seeing a new, big-money contract being handed out once a week these days.
Arizona gives Larry Fitzgerald $50 million guaranteed. Cleveland gives Joe Thomas $44 million guaranteed. Carolina’s DeAngelo Williams gets $21 million.
All he does is sit back and smile, knowing that his big deal will come soon enough, either in Minnesota or somewhere else. Peterson is making $10.7 million in the final year of his rookie contract, so the sense of urgency to get a new deal isn’t as pressing for him as it is for others who are making far less.
Peterson says he is happy to see his fellow players cashing in and says his contract “will come when it comes.”
Coach Leslie Frazier says keeping Peterson is a top priority.
