Lonnie Allen Houchin, the son of Ernest and Germaine (Baseman) Houchin, was born in Albert Lea, on April 1, 1960, and died in Cass County, Neb. on June 25, 2011, at the age of 51, as a result of a motorcycle accident.

He grew up in the Albert Lea and Glenville area. At the age of 12 the family moved to Aurora, Neb., where he attended school and graduated from Aurora High School in 1978.

Lonnie was married to Tami Sue Carlson in June 1982. Two children were born to this union, Kristen and Cole.

In April 2000, Lonnie married Becky Spilinek Drevo. She brought Jessica and Ryan into the family.

In Lincoln, Lonnie worked for Lewis Construction, Rezac Construction and Window Option Specialists.

Lonnie was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. He also was a Free Mason, a member of the Shriners and an Iron Noble. He had ridden with the Patriot Guard. Lonnie loved his Harley Davidson, and his favorite partner in crime was Doug (Sheri) Koozer. But most especially, he loved his family and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Becky, of Lincoln; four children, Kristen (Brian) Stoltenberg of Manhattan, Kan.; Jessica (Doug) Standley of Vermillion, S.D.; Cole (Rosalinda) Houchin of Central City; and Ryan (Danielle) Drevo of Sprague; mother/step-father, Germaine and Dean Lemkau of Aurora; father and step-mother, Ernest and Cindy Houchin of Central City; father-in-law, Jim Spilinek of Ord; grandchildren, Adriana Drevo, Maddox Standley and Kailyn Stoltenberg; sister, Tammie (Jay) Ferris of Seward; sister-in-law, Deb (Dave) Schmidt of Grand Island; seven nieces; seven nephews and two great-nephews. He is also survived by step-brothers, Rick (April) Lemkau of Sutton and Doyle (Jennifer) Lemkau of Grand Island and step-sister, Dawn (Doug) Petersen of Hampton. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Aurora. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be emailed to the family through the website at www.higby-mortuary.com.
