Maryann Hermanson, Albert Lea

Memorial services for Maryann Hermanson, of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea. The Rev. James Allen Hermanson, nephew, and the Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour before services.

Maryann died following a brief unexpected illness on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea.

Hermanson

She was born on Aug. 29, 1941, in Albert Lea the daughter of Helmer J. and Tessa Marie (Miller) Norby. Maryann graduated from Albert Lea High School on June 20, 1959, Maryann married the love of her life, Kenneth D. Hermanson, at the First Methodist Church in Albert Lea. She had worked at Midwest Loan, Streater Industries, and Smith and Douglas before spending more than 32 years at Fountain Industries. She loved motorcycle and convertible rides and making banana cream pies for “Bob.” Maryann’s life centered around her family being surrounded by them was what she cherished most.

She will be greatly missed by her husband Kenneth; her daughters: Lori Lynn (Gary) Hermanson of Albert Lea and Debra Ann (Bob Jr.) Arnold of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Adam Mikkel Clay (Tracy Dolsen) of Albert Lea, Shane Robert (Karina) Arnold of Glenville and Casey Dean Arnold of Albert Lea; great-grandchildren: Ava Jo Arnold, Rhea Luna Clay, Zoie Luna Clay, Jali Luna Clay and Chance Mikkel Clay; brothers: Dick (Lois) Norby of Rochester, Jim (Barb) Norby of Albert Lea, Tom (Sandy) Norby of Albert Lea; sisters-in-law, Ovila Jean Hanna of Lake Mills, Iowa, and Beverly Staples of Brownsdale; brother-in-law, Roger G. (Betty) Hermanson, of Albert Lea; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Daryl Norby; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James Melvin and Olga Marie Hermanson; nieces: Patty and Tammy Norby; nephew, Tim Norby; and brother-in-law, Carl Hanna.
