According to the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office, the man, Sean Stenzel, was ejected from the automobile and transported by Mayo One helicopter to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, where he later died.
The Sheriff’s Office states the crash took place at about 12:45 a.m. Saturday on Faribault County Road 32.
Stenzel was the driver and sole occupant of the car.
Faribault County Sheriff Mike Gormley said the cause of the rollover has not yet been determined, though there is a likelihood that speed was a factor.
The Wells Fire Department, Wells ambulance crews, Wells Police Department and the Minnesota State Patrol assisted at the crash.
Stenzel was a 2002 graduate of New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva High School in New Richland and worked as a carpenter.
His funeral is slated for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells, with visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells and one hour prior to the service at the church.
