The city of Albert Lea will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house on Monday from 5 to 5:30 p.m. at the new pavilion at Edgewater Park. The public is invited to attend.
The new pavilion, named Edgewater Bay Pavilion, was constructed using leftover funds from the state landfill cleanup project at Edgewater Park. The city of Albert Lea would like to thank then District 27A Rep. Robin Brown and District 27 Sen. Dan Sparks for their help in funding this project.
“The existing pavilion and playground equipment had to be removed,” said Parks and Recreation Director Jay Hutchison, “Rep. Brown and Sen. Sparks were instrumental in helping us get the leftover funds to use for a new pavilion and playground equipment. We really appreciate the help they gave us.”
The new pavilion is located just east of state Highway 13 in Edgewater Park.
